Year 11 Exam Final Shots
1. Red

These shots are based on Masculinity and Strength. I decided to choose the colour red for the last 2 shots because it connotes anger, power and strength. I took pictures of bones and his arm in order to go against the stereotype that males have to be powerful and strong. Therefore, that is why I chose to put in a shot of a crown on his head to show how men can be feminine too. I also decided to include bones as the background of the first shot and in the 3rd shot I put a photograph of him crying to show the stereotype of 'boys don't cry'.
2. Blue

I decided to choose blue for these shots because it can connote cleanliness and purity. I decided to use OCD as my focus which is why I took photograph's of the places that people expect you to be the most clean. This is also why I chose to use water as the background for the 2nd shot. I decided to use these body parts because usually, people wont wan't to be around you unless those body parts are clean. For example; your hands or your hair.
3. Pink

I decided to choose the colour pink for these shots because it connotes femininity. I wanted these shots to be about beauty and the pressure from society on women to be pretty. I chose to have shots of her looking happy to show how women have a voice and they should be heard. I also chose to use a shot of her with her hand up to show her standing up for equality and how women can be strong too. I also used shots of her stomach, legs and face to show how not all women have to be 'skinny' to be beautiful. I also used the shot of the princess tiara to go against the stereotype that girls grow up wanting to be princesses. Lastly, I used skin as the background for the last shot to further show the pressure on women to be skinny.
